Prof Dr Nasreen Khundker Memorial Gold Medal awarded at DU

Akib Khan, a student of MSS second batch of the Department of Economics at Dhaka University, got the ‘Prof Dr Nasreen Khundker Memorial Gold Medal 2012’ while Nahin Rahman and Ashraf Hossain of MSS 4th batch ‘Prof Dr Nasreen Khundker Memorial Scholarship’ this year, according to a news agency.
DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof Dr Nasreen Ahmad distributed medals, cheque of scholarship money and certificates among the awardees as the chief guest Sunday.
DU Treasurer and chairman of the Trusty Board of ‘Prof Dr Nasreen Khundker Memorial Trust Fund’ Prof Dr Md Kamal Uddin presided over the function while adviser of the former caretaker government and eminent economist Prof Dr Wahid Uddin Mahmud, Prof Dr Shafiq Uz Zaman of Economics Department, Prof Dr AH Ahmed Kamal of History Department and mother of Prof Dr Nasreen Khundker Dr Hamida Khanam and husband of Prof Dr Nasreen Khundker Ali Ahmed Ziauddin also spoke on the occasion.
Prof Dr Nasreen Ahmad in her speech urged the students to follow philosophy and guidelines of Prof Dr Nasreen Khundker so that they could build a successful life to serve the nation.
