Prof Hannan Chowdhury made Grameen Bank chairman

The interim government has appointed Prof Dr Abdul Hannan Chowdhury as director and chairman of the board of directors of microcredit- pioneer Grameen Bank.
The Financial Institutions Division (FID) under the Ministry of Finance issued a notification to this end on Tuesday.
Dr Hannan is a distinguished teacher at the School of Business and Economics at North South University (NSU).
His appointment will remain effective for a period of three years from the date of joining, according to a notification.
The FID has also appointed Dr Farhana Ferdousi as a director of the bank of the poor for the same period.
