Prof Sujit Kumar takes over as chairman of Dhaka WASA

Professor Dr Sujit Kumar Bala has taken over as the chairman of the board at Dhaka WASA, says a press release.
Dr Bala went on PRL (post-retirement leave) after serving as a professor of the Institute of Water and Flood Management (IWFM) at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Techno-logy (BUET) from 1997 to 2023.
While working at the IWFM of BUET, he worked in different international research projects funded by JICA, EU, IFAD, DFID, USAID. He also attended different international seminars and training programmes.
He authored more than 30 research reports in peer reviewed journals published from abroad. His conference papers were published in more than 50 seminars.
Before joining BUET, he worked as consultant/team leader in different domestic and overseas projects implemented by LGED, RHD and BBA. The projects included Jamuna Multipurpose Bridge Construction, Food Action Plan, Hyrdo Morphological Study, and Large Bride Culvert.
Currently, Prof Sujit Kumar is a member of the executive committee of 'Bangabandhu Parishad' at BUET.
