
Professor Naqib ranks RU's top researcher in 2020

RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, Jan 14: Professor Dr Saleh Hasan Naqib, a Physics department teacher of Rajshahi University, has been ranked the top researcher of the university in 2020 in terms of the number of publications in Scopus indexed journals.
The ranking was published in Scientific Bangladesh magazine analyzing the information and data of the Scopus database on January 09.
As per the report, Prof Naqib published 20 research articles in different Scopus indexed journals across the world last year.
Researchers from Rajshahi University on the other hand have contributed to 470 research documents which are 140 more than that of 2019. The university has secured 3rd position among the universities and research institutions of the country for the first time in terms of the number of publications.
A leading physicist of the country, Prof Naqib earned his PhD from the University of Cambridge in 2003 after completing his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Physics from Rajshahi University.
His main areas of interest are Superconductivity and Computational Physics. He started his teaching career in 1998 by joining Rajshahi University as a lecturer.
In recognition of his contribution in Physics, Prof Naqib was awarded the university Dean's Award in 2017, TWAS Young Scientist Award in 2008 and Razzaq-Shamsun Physics Research Prize in 2011.
