Progress of WAD cmplexes reviewed

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Women and Children Affairs Ministry at a meeting Tuesday reviewed the progress of the construction of the 'Women Affairs Directorate (WAD) Complex’ in all 64 districts of the country, reports BSS.
The meeting held with Committee Chairman Meher Afroz also hoped that with the completion of the work of the complexes it would be possible to implement big programmes by the government with women and children.
The meeting called for expanding child and woman education and checking stalking as well as building Bangladesh as a planned country by formation of planned families to check population boom.
It also laid emphasis on massive broadcasting of programmes for women and children taken by the government in mass media to create mass awareness about the programmes.
The meeting was apprised of the latest progress of construction of a mural of Sheikh Russell, the youngest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who was killed along with his other family members including Bangabandhu on the fateful night of August 15 in 1975, at Shishu Academy here.
"The construction work of the mural will be completed within a month," the meeting was informed.
