Projects beneficial to people to be prioritized: PM

Majority of independents want to align with govt

Highlighting the need for political stability, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Sunday affirmed a policy of zero tolerance for arson and stressed that projects beneficial to the country's people would get priority.
The prime minister conveyed this message during her opening address at a meeting with independent Members of Parliament (MPs) who emerged victorious in the 12th parliamentary election.
During the meeting, some MPs told the media that the majority of the independent members had expressed their desire to align themselves with the ruling party.
Sheikh Hasina urged independent MPs to familiarise themselves with the history of Bangladesh and embrace the constitution.
