Proliferation of frauds keeps mounting in US

NEW YORK, March 11: The proliferation of frauds has kept mounting keeping equal pace with the deceleration and contraction of economy. The federal and state investigators here in US are preparing for a surge of prosecutions of financial frauds.

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) will be provided with more fund to investigate white colour crime. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will get a 13 per cent raise in its funding.

There have developments in the global political scenario. China and US are in confrontational mood over their presence in the South China Sea. Five Chinese boats came close to a US navy vessel in the South China Sea. US expressed its exacerbation and China poured scorn asking Washington to prevent it happening again.

Iran's president Mahmoud Ahmedinejad said capitalism has been torn asunder and called upon countries of the region to forge a unity and a single currency to facilitate regional trade.

Saudi Arabia on the other hand is making valiant bid to overcome damaging rifts in the Arab world and asking for diminishing the ever expanding influence of Iran in the region. Saudi Arabia is playing host to Syrian president Bashir Asad. Also to join the meeting were leaders from Egypt and Kuwait in what is being described as a high profile move to forge unity before the Arab League summit billed for March 30. Saudi-Syria ties had soured in recent times over their role in Lebanon and Palestine.

Riyadh-Damascus ties were frozen after 2005 assassination of Rafik Harari, prime minister of Lebanon and a close Saudi ally.

The United States is seeking a new route for safe passage of supply to NATO forces in Afghanistan by bypassing Russia but using Iran.

President of France Nicolas Sarkozy surprised both his political foes and friends by confirming his intention of taking back France into full participation in Nato alliance. Charge de Gaulle pulled France out of Nato in " a defiant show of independence from US" about 43 years ago. Sarkozy said it was time to resume a full role in Nato.
