Promoting hygiene strategies to reduce diseases stressed

GAIBANDHA, Apr 25 (BSS): Speakers at a function stressed the need for promoting hygiene strategies and practices comprehensively to reduce water and sanitation related diseases.
"Improving water quality, hygiene practices and excreta disposal are all important in reducing high rate of under-five child mortality due to diarrhea, dysentery, typhoid, cholera and hepatitis", they said.
They made the comments while addressing workshop on National Hygiene Promotion Strategy (NHPS) for water supply and sanitation sector in Bangladesh at the auditorium of Sadar upazila parishad on Wednesday.
SKS Foundation, Water Aid, policy support unit (PSU) of Local Government Division (LGD) jointly arranged the function for the stakeholders with the financial support of UKAID.
