CHITTAGONG, Dec 23: Experts urged for creating an effective women friendly atmosphere in the field of trade and commerce through preparing Woman National Business Agenda with proper solution to overall problems of the women entrepreneurs in transacting business.
The call came from a divisional stakeholders consultation workshop arranged by Bangladesh Woman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BWCCI) at a city hotel yesterday.
BWCCI Chittagong divisional representative Nurun Nahar presided over the workshop while member of BWCCI Board of Director Nurun Nahar Begum delivered address of welcome.
The speakers in the meeting said, a good number of women have already got themselves involved in business activities and added that national development is quite impossible without economic uplift of the members of the females as they constitute half of total population of the country.
It is really a matter of great regret that no specific business guideline has so far been set for the woman entrepreneurs, they also said. So, it is a must to formulate a specific guideline with necessary recommendation and place it to the government for its implementation.
Expressing solidarity with the woman entrepreneurs, Dr. Anupam Sen in his chief guest address said, the specific guideline would make the process of taking appropriate steps toward uplift of the woman entrepreneurs easier.
Project Coordinator Mujibur Rahman presented the keynote paper while Professor Roushan Ara Hanif and M. Nasirul Hoque also spoke on the occasion.
