Proposed budget realistic, says TCCI

Tangail Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) Sunday hailed the government budget for next fiscal, which proposed for withdrawing import duty on essential commodities.
Abul Kashem Ahmed, president of TCCI, termed the budget proposals as a realistic step to keep the prices of the essentials stable in the market, said a press release.
Referring to the price hike of essentials in the international market, Ahmed urged the government for more allocation of subsidy on all essential commodities including food items considering the interest of 140 million people of the country.
He, however, stressed the need for intensifying the market monitoring.
Ahmed, also a director of Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), have called upon the business community to do business without profit for next three months responding to the call of the government.
