PROs advised to learn about ICT

Public relations officers (PRO) have been advised to know more about the media and information and communication technology (ICT).
Vice Chancellor (VC) of Jagannath University Professor Dr Mesbahuddin Ahmed gave the advise while speaking as the chief guest at the concluding ceremony of a training course on Modern Technique of Public Relations and Communi-cations in the city recently, said a press release.
Bangladesh Institute of Journalism and Electronic Media (BIJEM) organised the training for working’s PROs.
The chief guest said, "The role of public relations in the modern society is very important. Different organisations can improve their image and can solve their management crisis by using effective public relations strategy and planning."
The chief guest distributed certificates among the participants.
Media Adviser of Bashundhara Group Mohammed Abu Tayeb and National Consultant (Public Information) of World Health Organisation SM Mahfuzur Rahman were present as the special guests.
Executive Director of BIJEM Mirza Tarequl Qader presided over the concluding ceremony.
A total of 12 PROs from Bangladesh Navy, RAB, Rupantarita Prakritik Gas Company Limited, BKMEA, Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation, Ashuganj Power Station Co. Ltd., Bangladesh Forest Research Institute and Essential Drugs Co. Ltd. took part in the course, the release added.
