Prosecution submits formal charge against Mahidur, Chutu

The prosecution at the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 on Sunday submitted formal charge against Mahidur Rahman and Afsar Hossain Chutu, alleged Razakar leaders from Chapainawabganj. The tribunal set November 24 for passing order, whether to take the charges against the duo into cognizance or not. Prosecutor Shahidur Rahman submitted the formal charge against Mahidur, 84, and Chutu, 65, who allegedly committed crimes against humanity from the same Razakar camp in Shibganj Upazila of Chapainawabganj in 1971. The prosecution brought three charges including genocide and murder. Meanwhile, the tribunal in its order asked the authority concerned to keep the duo in detention till November 24, according to a news agency.
