Proshika Chief Executive Mahbub-ul-Karim has dismissed the claim of Quazi Faruque Ahmed that he was still its chairman, reports UNB.
"Quazi Faruque and his followers are spreading rumours that the High Court (HC) has ruled that he is still chairman of Proshika and soon he will resume his official responsibility; it is totally false," Mahbub told reporters at the Dhaka Reporters Unity Tuesday.
He showed the court order that said, "If the plaintiff-petitioner wants he alone can enter the office of the Proshika and to take sit with the present chairman, present chief executive and the other members of the governing body of Proshika without any procession or rally to damage the peaceful atmosphere of Proshika."
This did not mean he was reinstated as the chairman of Proshika, he added.
Mahbub said Quazi Faruque had been creating obstacles to activities of Proshika since he was ousted from his position on May 24.
Directors of the governing body of Proshika Sirajul Islam, Sirajul Haque and Abdul Rauf were present at the press conference.
