The government Monday reopened the headquarters of Proshika in city's Mirpur area for its employees three days after the police had taken control for the third time over the head office of the NGO.
Pallabi police said they reopened the office at about 10:30am and handed over its keys to Proshika's chief executive Mahbub-ul Karim allowing its staffs to commence normal activities.
"We have reopened the building on the order of higher authorities," officer-in-charge of Pallabi police station said.
The police took control over the building on June 10 hours after it reopened after a closure of three-month.
There have been disputes for last several months over the control of the NGO between ousted chairman Kazi Faruk Ahmed and the incumbent governing body, which also prompted clashes between the two groups in several times.
Proshika's governing body members removed its founder chairman Kazi Faruk after a meeting in May last year.
However, Kazi Faruk has claimed that he was re-elected chairman at a general meeting.
The police took control of the building in January and handed over the keys to the incumbent chief executive officer following a High Court order.
The Supreme Court later stayed that order for a limited period following a petition by Kazi Faruk, resulting in closure of the office again by the police for the second time on Mar 4 for three months and eight days.
