Prosperity in grip of political instability
Friday, 16 January 2015
As we now live in a global village, all types of facilities available in other countries are also at our door-steps. But as many people live below the poverty line here, they can't even meet the primary needs.
The people of Bangladesh presently live in a golden age in terms of technological development, medicare, education and so on. The country is now holding the second position in readymade garment export as well as making mark in medicine, tea, leather exports, etc. Rice has of late been added to the list of exports.
But what is going on on the political front? Both parties -the Awami League and the BNP--are responsible for the ongoing political instability in the country. Undoubtedly, we have made headway in economic and social development, women empowerment, remittance flow, foreign exchange reserve and so on except political stability.
Political economics has been playing a significant role in today's world.
Our political parties should be more conscious about our national interest forgetting petty party politics. A 'Golden Bangladesh' is not a dream for us if our political parties could unite in taking the nation to a speedy growth path.
