Protesters renew call for Ishraque's swearing-in as DSCC mayor

After a two-day weekend break, protesters have once again besieged Nagar Bhaban, demanding that BNP leader Ishraque Hossain be handed the mayoral office at Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), reports bdnews24.com.
The demonstration, which resumed at 11:00 am on Sunday, included DSCC employee union leaders and activists, joined by around a hundred BNP activists led by Rabiul Alam Dipu, president of the party's Kadamtali Ward-52 unit.
The protesters locked all the gates of Nagar Bhaban and chanted slogans pressing their demands. They also called for the resignation of Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain, the advisor on local government affairs.
"Ishraque Hossain is the people's mayor.
