Provide passport to Anee in 7 days: HC

The High Court (HC) asked the government Monday to provide machine readable passport (MRP) to BNP leader Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee within seven days, reports UNB.
An HC bench comprising Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury and Justice Habibul Gani passed the order after the final hearing of a rule issued earlier.
Court sources said the BNP leader applied to the Department of Immigration and Passports for the passport.
After failing to get the passport in a two-month period, he filed a writ petition with the HC.
After hearing the rule, the court asked the director general of the Department of Immigration and Passports to provide Anee passport within seven days.
