Pry teachers threaten indefinite work abstention from October 6

Thursday, 24 September 2015

Bangladesh Primary Assistant Teacher Oikya Jote, an alliance of five associations of primary school assistant teachers, threatened on Wednesday to observe an indefinite work-abstention from October 6 if their demands, including removal of discriminations in the 8th National Pay Scale, are not met by October 5.
The organisation will also observe token hunger strike from 10 am on October 15 and march towards the Prime Minister's Office to submit a memorandum.
They announced the decision from a meeting of the organisation at its office at Purana Paltan with its coordinator Ataur Rahman in the chair.
The organisation expressed frustration over its meeting with the Director General of the Directorate of Primary Education, held on September 22, as it ended without any decision.
