The Pre-shipment Inspection (PSI) companies are getting an extension for six months to carry on their business, reports BSS.
A proposal for the extension has been forwarded to the Chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) for approval, an NBR source said.
The NBR will consider the extension for six months by which time it prepares to take its own responsibilities.
Meanwhile, the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) suggested the government continue the present PSI system at least for one more year in the interest of businesses and revenue collection.
