PSI for poultry feed import waived

The government has waived pre-shipment inspection (PSI) for import of poultry feed raw materials considering heavy loss of chickens in bird flu. National Board of Revenue (NBR) that recommended the measure is likely to issue an SRO next week withdrawing the mandatory PSI on import of ingredients for production of poultry feed, officials said. Waiving of PSI, imposed in the current year's budget, will reduce the import cost by at least one per cent. —UNB
