Pubali Bank opens 387th branch

Pubali Bank Limited inaugurated its 387th branch at Navarabazar, Jessore Saturday.
Governor of Bangladesh Bank Dr. Atiur Rahman formally inaugurated the branch as chief guest. PBL's Vice-Chairman & Director Habibur Rahman, Directors' Sk. Wahidur Rahman, Ahmed Shafi Chowdhury, Kabiruzzaman Yakub & Alternate Director Sabir Ahmed were present as special guests. Managing Director of Pubali Bank Helal Ahmed Chowdhury presided over the inauguration ceremony.
Addressing the programme, Dr Atiur Rahman said banking sector is the heart of Bangladesh economy. He hoped banks can play a vital role for poverty alleviation and socia-economic development of the country.
He praised the Pubali Bank for lending loan to flower cultivators of Navaron. He thanked the PBL authority and the board for their prompt action of opening a branch at Navaran. He said Pubali Bank introduced "Non-Resident Credit Scheme". One can take financial help through this scheme who goes abroad for employment.
Vice-Chairman & Director Habibur Rahman, Directors' Sk. Wahidur Rahman, Ahmed Shafi Chowdhury also delivered speech at the function. They urged all to enjoy banking services through the Pubali Bank.
In his speech Mr Helal Ahmed Chowdhury said, Pubali Bank gives priority to provide opportunity and advantage to the customers through application of modern technologies. With a view to expanding the scope of services, the bank has opened its Navaron Bazar branch. He hoped that Navaranbazar Branch will play a significant role for expanding flower cultivation. He also urged all the local people for extending co-operation to the bank.
Local Upazila Chairman, General Managers of Bangladesh Bank, Senior officials of local government and Deputy Managing Director of PBL Shafiul Alam Khan Chowdhury, Regional head of Khulna Region Jiban Krishna Biswas, local elite and renowned businessmen also attended.
