Public hearing on Narayanganj murders begins

The public hearing on the brutal killings of seven people after their abductions began at the Circuit House in Narayanganj on Monday. The seven-member probe body formed to investigate law enforcers’ alleged involvement in the Narayanganj seven-murder started recording of the statement around 10 am. Four people gave their depositions before the probe body till 2pm. Meanwhile, district bar association leaders met the probe body in the morning and requested the committee not to record any statement defending the killers. They said they will give depositions in the second-phase public hearing to be held on May 15. The lawyers observed one and half hours of work abstention in the morning demanding immediate arrest of the killers. They also staged demonstrations on the court premises at noon, according to a news agency.
