Publicity campaign for cigarette

Sunday, 28 December 2014

The other day I, along with some of my friends, was having a cup of tea in a restaurant near Krishi market, at Mohammadpur.  All of a sudden, we were struck by a slogan. We initially thought that it was an election campaign of a local body.  A few seconds later, we realised that the slogan had nothing to do with an election campaign, because it sounded different. We tried to find out where the slogan was coming from. It was evening or early night, and to our surprise, we saw some people giving slogan in favour of Brighton, a new brand of cigarette. The slogans contained attractive and alluring messages. The messages were like 'aged people smoke Brighton, students smoke Brighton and you would like Brighton,' etc. We were surprised, while a campaign has been going on against smoking all over the world, how could a cigarette company carry on a campaign calling on people to smoke a particular brand. I think, it should not be allowed to continue.
