The government has been urged to take stern action against the environment destroyers and the building code violators.
Speakers made the appeal while speaking at a discussion organised by the US Bangladesh Foundation (USBF) marking the World Environment Day (WED) on the Dhaka University (DU) campus Saturday.
"Our call to the government is to take stern action against those who are destroying the environment and constructing buildings violating the building code, causing substantial loss of lives and wealth," one of the speakers mentioned.
They said the government had no alternative at this moment to being strict against the environment destroyers.
