Purbagaon EZ gets pre-qualification licence

Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) on Thursday gave pre-qualification licence to privately-owned Purbagaon Economic Zone (EZ) being developed at Kayet Para Union under Rupganj upazila in Narayanganj.
BEZA issued the pre-qualification licence to establish the economic zone at a function at BEZA headquarters in the city, said a press release.
City Group, a leading business house of the country, is developing the Purbagaon EZ.
BEZA Executive Chairman Shaikh Yusuf Harun presided over the function while City Group Chairman Fazlur Rahman was present as special guest.
The economic zone is being established on 94 acres of land on the bank of the river Shitalakshya, adjacent to Dhaka-Sylhet highway. There is a plan to expand the EZ to 150 acres in the future.
