Pvt entrepreneurs urged to invest more in tourism

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Ghulam Muhammed Quader called upon private entrepreneurs to invest more in tourism sector under public private partnership to tap the huge potential of the industry.
"Investment in tourism sector is not only profitable but also secured," said the minister.
He also said that the government will take the leadership role while the private entrepreneurs will act as soldiers.
The minister was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the 4th Dhaka Tourism Fair 2010 at Dhaka Sheraton Hotel in the city Thursday.
The fair aims at developing cross-border tourism products through public private partnership.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Secretary Shafique Alam Mehdi, Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation Chairman Hemayet Uddin Talukder, sector commander of the Sundarbans Maj (Rtd) Zia Uddin Ahmed, members of the newly formed Bangladesh Tourism Board Badal Khandaker and AKM Bari and representatives of various partner organisations were present on the occasion while Parjatan Bichitra Editor Mohiuddin Helal moderated the programme.
GM Quader said the government will act as the facilitator for the entrepreneurs in the implementation process of the various tourism related projects.
