Pvt varsity assoc demands withdrawal of proposed Act 2007

Leaders of the Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh have urged the government to withdraw the proposed Private University Act, 2007, repoers BSS.
They protested against the move, saying some of the rules in the proposed Act would change the basic structure of the private universities.
Leaders of the association at a press conference held Friday at Dhaka Reporters' Unity also said there is no need to formulate a new Act for operating the private universities.
President of the Association MA Quasem, vice-president of the Association Abu Quasem Haider and executive member of the association Prof M Alimullah Mian spoke at the conference.
