PW cross-examined in money laundering case against Tarique

Police officer Hosne Ara Begum, a prosecution witness (PW) in money laundering case against BNP leader Tarique Rahman and his business partner Giasuddin Al Mamun, was cross-examined by the defence counsel in the Special Judge's court of Dhaka Tuesday, reports UNB.
Earlier Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agent Debra Leprevotte of the USA, a PW, deposed in the case on November 16 against the accused.
The trial continued in absence of the main accused Tarique who is now in London.
The Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) filed the case on 20 October 2009 accusing the BNP leader of funneling out to Singapore Tk 204.1 million through illegal means.
Hearing will resume on January 24.
