A female prosecution witness (PW) blamed Tuesday SM Qaiser for killing her freedom fighter (FF) father along with his three comrades-in-arms during the Liberation War in 1971, reports UNB.
"Despite seeking mercy grabbing Qaiser's leg for my captured father along with three others before their killing, he didn't pay heed to our entreaties, rather he roughly pushed us away," recalled Majeda Khatun alias Jamila, now 75, while testifying as PW-26 against Qaiser before the International Crimes Tribunal-2.
All the four captured people had been lined up on the bank of the River Sonai before killing them and dumping their bullet-riddled bodies into the river by the army personnel following a signal from Qaiser, she said as an eyewitness.
The PW disclosed the names of the martyred FFs including her father Akkas Ali. The three others were Siraj Mian, Wahed Ali and Abdus Sattar who were captured after storming a house in Madhabpur by a group of Razakars under the leadership of Qaiser in the early hours on 12 Ashwin of Bangla month during the Liberation War.
