Qamrul sued for slur against Zia

SIRAJGANJ, May 26 (UNB): A libel suit was filed here Wednesday against State Minister for Law Qamrul Islam for making derogatory remarks against slain President Ziaur Rahman.
Ruhul Amin Babu, general secretary of district Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum, filed the libel suit of Tk 50 billion.
After hearing the petitioner, Senior Judicial Magistrate Pradip Kumar Roy issued orders for police to investigate the case and report.
State Minister Qamrul Islam reportedly said recently that the liberation war hero and former President Ziaur Rahman was a spy of Pakistan.
