Qatar, one of the richest Gulf States, has expressed interest to invest in Bangladesh's energy sector and building LNG (liquefied natural gas) terminal. Qatar Prime Minister Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani conveyed it to Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, now in Doha, during a meeting held on Monday night on the sidelines of Doha Forum. The Qatar premier also assured the Bangladesh Commerce Minister of hiring more Bangladeshis as the middle-eastern country will require huge manpower for developing infrastructure ahead of World Cup 2022, said a Commerce Ministry media release on Tuesday. Tofail briefed the Qatar Prime Minister about the investment climate and prevailing facilities and laid emphasis on recruiting more workers from Bangladesh, according to UNB.
