CHITTAGONG: Communications Minister Obaidul Quader Sunday laid special emphasis on improved road connectivity, discipline in mass transport sector, cleanliness in the city and saving of the Karnaphuli River from pollution to attract more foreign investment in the commercial hub Chittagong, according to a news agency.
The minister expressed resentment over overall condition of the city saying Chittagong has now become unfit for human habitation.
"The city is full of waste, passersby are to use handkerchief because of stink, vast greenery and hills are almost invisible for billboards", Quader said.
The minister was talking to journalists after inaugurating 'Road Show-2014 Campaign' in city's Agrabad area that aimed at creating public awareness about checking road accident.
After visiting some city streets, the minister said there is no discipline in vehicular movement, city roads are dilapidated and so the city residents have become exasperated with this condition.
