Quake shakes Solomon Islands
Monday, 10 August 2015
A strong tremor jolted the Solomon Islands on Monday morning, the US Geological Survey said. It said, there was no Pacific-wide tsunami warning issued for the quake-prone South Pacific region. The shallow earthquake, measuring 6.9 on the Richter scale, was centred some 186 kilometres (116 miles) southwest of Dadali and 214 kilometres from Solomon Island’s capital Honiara. However, no casualties were reported, according to a news agency.
