Quayes appointed envoy to Brazil

The government has appointed Mohamed Mijarul Quayes, currently serving as Bangladesh High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, as the new Ambassador of Bangladesh to Brazil. A career diplomat, Mijarul Quayes is a member of the 1982 batch of BCS (Foreign Affairs) Cadre, a foreign ministry release said in Dhaka Sunday. In his distinguished diplomatic career, Quayes, besides his present assignment has pursued ambassadorship in the Maldives and Russia. He also served in Bangladesh Missions in Tokyo, Singapore and Geneva in various capacities. Quayes had also served as a foreign secretary during 2009-12, according to a news agency.
