Qubee Laptop Fair begins in city

FE Report The four-day Qubee Laptop Fair 2013 with the slogan of 'Light Up The Light Of Technology,' 'began Friday at the National Military Museum, Bijoy Swarani, in the city. Science and Technology Minister Yeafesh Osman inaugurated the fair and said the young people are mainly contributing to the country's information and communication technology sector. He said the young people are carrying out the identity of the country to the world community through freelance outsourcing. The minister hoped that easy access to internet through laptop will encourage the people of countryside to be attached with the ICT despite experiencing power shortage. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Qubee Faisal Haider, General Secretary of Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) Munir Hasan and ICT specialist Mostafa Jabbar spoke at the inaugural function. In his speech, the Qubee CEO said with the increase in digital device use, the rate of internet use is also increasing rapidly in the country. Customers who will buy Qubee connection from the fair will get double bonus. Event management company Expo Maker is organising the fair in collaboration with the internet broadband service provider Qubee. The fair will remain open from 10:00am-8:00pm every day till February 25. The entry ticket will be Tk 20 but if someone opens a Bkash account on the fair premises, he/she will get a free entry to the fair. Al-Amin Dewan, coordinator of the fair said there will be some more devices in the fair which are not available in the market. There will be more gifts for the visitor this time. And exclusively there will be a gaming zone for the visitors by gigabyte AMD, he added. Fifty-seven exhibitors are taking part at the fair with seven pavilions, eight mini pavilions and forty-two stalls which include Qubee, Acer, Asus, HP, Intel, Samsung, Gigabyte, Toshiba, Apple, Lenovo, MSI, Bijoy and all other types of laptops, tablet PCs, WiMAX internet devices and antivirus package will be available at the fair. Acer, Asus, HP and Samsung are the co-sponsors of the fair.
