Question leak: Govt to sit with educationists

The education ministry has planned a meeting with educationists to discuss alleged leak of question papers in the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations. A ministry official, who chose to remain anonymous, said the meeting will be held on June 11. Professor Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, who has been protesting against the leaks, is among those invited, the ministry official informed. The meeting had been called to discuss ways to improve educational standards and other issues. Asked whether the alleged leaks would be on the agenda, the official said, ‘Since it is a relevant issue, it might come up.’ Another ministry official confirmed that the meeting was being called to discuss the means of tackling question paper leaks in the HSC exams. Other invitees include Professor Zillur Rahman Siddiqui, Professor Anisuzzaman, Professor Rehman Sobhan, Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed, Professor Sirajul Islam Chowdhury, Professor Wahiduddin Mahmud and Dr Md Farashuddin. Professor Jamilur Reza Chowdhury, Professor Mesbah Uddin, Professor Anwar Hossain, Professor MM Akash and Professor Kazi Faruk Ahmed have also been invited, according to bdnews24.com.
