The committee formed to nab those involved in the Narayanganj multiple murders has summoned Rab-11 members, including the three discharged officers, for interrogation. Narayanganj Additional Superintendent of Police Subrata Halder, the convener of the committee, on Monday said that several officers, including the three, would be questioned. The three officers are former lieutenant colonel Tarek Sayeed Mahmud, major Arif Hossain and naval officer lieutenant commander MM Rana, who were sent on forced retirement on May 7. Tarek Sayeed Mahmud is the son-in-law of Disaster Management Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya. ‘These three officers and several others will be interrogated. Letters have been sent to them,’ Halder said. He did not, however, say when they would be questioned or how many others had been summoned. A source has said the letters were sent after going through the duty roster of Rab-11 on April 27, the day the seven people were abducted and murdered. The list includes officers as well as drivers on duty that day. The number of these Rab members is about 20, the source confirmed, according to bdnews24.com.
