RAB arrests 3, including JMB man, Indian

MYMENSINGH, June 15 (BSS): The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in separate drives arrested three persons, including an alleged activist of Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) and an Indian national yesterday and today.
In a drive, RAB arrested JMB activist Imran Ali Manik (25), who was the motorcyclist of recently executed JMB kingpin Siddiqul Islam alias Bangla Bhai, from a bus at Khagdahar in the district.
On a tip-off, RAB personnel searched a passenger bus bound for Jamalpur last night and arrested Manik, who hails from village Chandimandop in Muktagachha Upazila.
Books on jihad, a mobile set and a money bag were seized from his possession. Manik is accused in several cases, including dacoity, the police sources said.
In another drive, the RAB arrested an Indian national from in front of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) at Charpara in the district town this morning.
The arrested was identified as Salah Uddin Mollah (42), alias Mickel Nepal Chandra Sarker alias Emran Hossain alias Abdus Salam, son of Sadar Uddin Mollah of Mundupara under Nakshi Para police station of Nadia district of West Bengal in India.
The police said the Indian used various names to cheat common people, the sources added.
A RAB team also arrested a drug peddler from Kanchijuli Bazar with two kgs of hemp in the district town today. He was identified as Wazed Ali (32), son of late Hafiz Ali.
The arrested were handed over to Kotwali police. Separate cases were lodged.
