A RAB-member was held for some time on the Indian side on Wednesday morning, as he unwittingly crossed the dividing line in chase against some smugglers from Hili rail-station in Dinajpur, situated close by the Indo-Bangladesh border, report UNB and bdnews24.com.
However, he was sent back to Bangladesh after a coordination talk between Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) and the Indian Border Security Force (BSF).
Havilder M Joynal Abedin and SI Nazir of the RAB unit, who were then on duty at the rail-station, chased the cross-border traders.
Informed by SI Nazir, Commander of RAB-5 camp in Joypurhat Major Shah Ali and other senior officials went to the spot, and coordinated with BSF. Later, they sent back Joynal.
RAB Director General Hasan Mahmud Khondoker said, Havilder Joynal Abedin mistakenly entered into Indian territories while chasing the smugglers, and afterwards, BSF sent him back.
Meanwhile, two Bangladeshi nationals were gunned down by BSF opposite to Banglabandha frontier at Tentulia in Panchagarh Tuesday midnight.
