RAB man remanded, another makes attempt to kill self over N\\\'ganj 7 murders

An officer of RAB-11 was remanded for 8 days immediately after his arrest on Saturday in connection with the Narayanganj 7-murder case. Meanwhile, another RAB-11 member, arrested earlier in this connection, made an attempt to commit suicide in jail. He is now out of danger, confirmed the additional police super of Narayanganj Md Zakaria. Investigation officer Mamunur Rashid Mandal submitted his prayer before the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate of Narayanganj Saiduzzaman Sharif seeking 10 days’ remand for Sub Inspector (SI) of RAB-11 Purnendu Bala. However, the court granted 8 days remand. On the other hand, Nayek Billal Hossain, who has been inducted to RAB-11 from Ansar Bahini, allegedly tried to kill himself after cutting his throat with a blade in Narayanganj Central Jail early Saturday, Jailer Forkan Ahmed said. Additional SP of Narayanganj Zakari confirmed the incident saying that Billal was rushed to a hospital and he is now out of danger, according to a news agency.
