RAB raids home of Purbani director, widens search for 'girlfriend'

The Rapid Action Battalion seized up to 400 bottles of alcoholic beverages in an overnight raid on the home of a Purbani Hotel director in Dhanmondi early Tuesday as the elite force widened its search for his girlfriend with links to Yaba tablets. Several RAB officers told bdnews24.com that they had launched the raid on the building on Road No. 27 of Dhanmondi in search of Jannatul Ferdous, a model. The woman, 22 years of age according to details in her passport seized by the RAB, was described as girlfriend of Mahbubur Rahman Joynal, director of the hotel. "We are surprised to find the huge quantity of foreign liquor here.
