RAB seizes Indian clothes worth Tk 100m

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) seized Indian clothes worth around Tk 100 million from a cargo ship at Keraniganj off the city Tuesday morning.
Nine persons were also arrested in connection with the clothes smuggling, one of the biggest hauls of such illegal items, an officer of RAB-6 told the FE.
Acting on a tip-off, a RAB team from the unit raided a cargo vessel at the Jinjira ferry terminal at about 8:00am, from which they seized the contraband Indian clothes, mostly sharees.
"We also arrested Mamun, Jaman, Mofizul Islam, Farid Hossain, Jafrul, Jahangir Hossain, Sohel, Abdul Awal and Jalal for their alleged involvement in the smuggling," the RAB officer said.
