Radiation from cell phones
Monday, 9 March 2015
While going to my office on a public bus on the other day, I encountered an unusual experience. An elderly gentleman who just got into the bus suddenly admonished me before I could figure out anything. He asked me to keep my mobile phone in my pocket. He was far away from me and therefore I could not understand why he was saying so. He also advised me not to use the phone in public place or in public transports with closed windows. On hearing his over cautious advice, everybody including me was surprised.
I could not understand what to say as he was an elderly person and his words were not wrong either. I therefore kept quiet. He also added that some 300,000 people will die every year of mobile phone radiation if suitable measures are not taken to prevent radiation. How we can prevent mobile phone radiation when the whole country is crowded with mobile phone towers. It is only up to the cell phone companies to take appropriate steps to reduce mobile radiation to a minimum level by using state-of-the-art technology and launching campaigns for more tree plantations. The elderly gentleman felt the health risk of mobile phone radiation, do the mobile phone companies understand his trepidation?
