Rafiur Rabbi gets bail in cheque fraudulence case

NARAYANGANJ, July 15 (UNB): A Narayanganj court granted on Tuesday bail for 60 days to Rafiur Rabbi, father of slain Twaki, and convener of Santras Nirmul Tawki Mancha in a case filed for cheque fraudulence.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Court-1 Judge Mamunur Rashid passed the order after hearing the bail petition.
Earlier on June 24, the same court awarded Rabbi the jail term in the case.
The court also fined him Tk 21 million (2.10 crore).
Court sources said one Jalaluddin, son of Sanuruddin, a resident of North Chashara, filed the case with Narayanganj Chief Judicial Magistrate Court against Rabbi accusing him of cheating over two cheques worth Tk 7.0 million (70 lakh) in 2012.
