Rahim, Samad new Ctg Club chairman, vice chairman

CHITTAGONG, Dec 22: Meah Md Abdur Rahim has been elected chairman of Chittagong Club Ltd while Al Samad Dobhash Sagar vice chairman.
Both of them have been elected unopposed after the annual general meeting of the club held last evening in the Club Hall. It was the 138th AGM of the Chittagong Club Ltd, a statement said.
Other executive members of the new committee are Javed Hashem Nannu, Salauddin Ahmed, SM Shafiul Azam, Md Imran Ahmed, Rumana Hayat, Dr Alak Nandi, Advocate Sabrina Chowdhury, Md Jahid Sultan Tipu and Sultanul Abedin Chowdhury.
The executive members were elected through secret ballots. As many as 816 members cast their votes in the election conducted by convener of the election committee M Saiful Islam.
The AGM was presided over by club chairman Meah Md Abdur Rahim yesterday. It was attended, among others, by outgoing vice chairman Md Shahjada Alam, Jahirul Islam Chowdhury (Alamgir), Engineer Iftekhar Hossain (Sohag), Zaved Hashem Nannu, Md Imran Ahmed, Rumana Hayat, MN Azad Chowdhury, Rabi Shankar Das, Adv Sabrina Chowdhury and Md Manjurul Islam Parvez.
