Rahmatganj upset holders Abahani

Rahmatganj MFS made the biggest upset in the Citycell 2nd B League opening match when they came from behind to earn a 2-1 goals win over holders Dhaka Abahani Saturday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) in the city, reports UNB.
Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Sr. Vice President Abdus Salam Murshedi formally opened the Mega League as the chief guest.
Foreign recruits Idris Kasirye and NCHE Francis scored one goal each for the winners' after trailing in the 1st half (1-0). Nigerian striker Emeka Christain netted for the losers.
Emeka put Abahani ahead in the 22nd minute with a header from inside the danger zone utilising a Zahed Pervez's left wing corner (1-0).
After the breather, Idris restored the parity for Rahmatganj with a header from inside the danger zone taking the right wing cross from Francis (1-1).
Francis scored the match winner for his team with an angular box shot following a combined attack giving no chance to custodian Biplob in the 57th minute (2-1).
Earlier, Abahani got several scoring chances, but failed to convert any, while Rahmatganj utilised their two chances.
Abahani got another scoring chance in the 16th minute, but this time custodian Mohammad Ali gripped the Emeka's close header from Mamun long pass.
Mohammad Ali again frustrated the Abahani fans when he foiled substitute Uzzal's close range shot at a cost of corner in the 76th minute.
After the match, Abahani coach Amalesh Sen said that their defense was too weak to restrict the opponent attacks. Moreover, they missed a couple of scoring chances.
