Railway accidents
Sunday, 12 December 2010
Another deadly railway accident took away over a dozen valuable lives and injured hundreds apart from huge loss of properties. As per media reports, during the last ten years more than five thousand serious railway accidents occurred with no sign of respite. This incident is another example of total mismanagement of the railway division.
Either the communication ministry cannot handle the burden due to its inefficiency or vested quarters are trying to keep the sector limping, to meet their own selfish ends in connivance with the corrupt ministry officials. A few months back the Prime Minister announced the formation of a separate ministry for the railways. People in general welcomed the decision but are now frustrated at the unusual delay in implementing the decision. What is preventing its smooth transition by creating various bottlenecks? A separate ministry was also recommended by the parliamentary committee. It has now become the national demand and a dire necessity. May we humbly appeal to the Prime Minister to take immediate action to fulfill her earlier promise to the nation in this regard?
