Railway incurs loss of over Tk 230m: Minister

SIRAJGANJ, Oct 12 (Agencies): The police have arrested 21 people in connection with the train accident in Sirajganj Monday that left six people dead.
Railway Police-Sub-Inspector Bimol Kumar Chaki said that three cases were filed separately against around 3000 to 4000 unknown persons.
Rail Guard GN Mukherjee, Assistant Sub-Inspectors Saidur Rahman and Mr Touhid filed the cases.
Sirajganj BNP president and BNP chairperson's Advisor Iqbal Hassan Mahmud Tuku said they were preparing to file a case over the deaths of their six activists in the Monday accident.
He said they would file the case with a court because they presumed that the police would not receive their case.
Meanwhile, Communications Minister Syed Abul Hossain has said the railway department suffered a loss of Tk 230 million to Tk 250 million due to the burning of the intercity train in Sirajganj.
