Rain pulls down mercury in city

The Dhaka city witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall on Thursday noon, which brought down the mercury level to some extent.
The Met office recorded 57 mm of rainfall in Dhaka until 6:00pm on the day.
The maximum temperatures recorded in Dhaka fell to 33 degrees Celsius on Monday as against 35 degrees the previous day.
The rate of humidity was 92 per cent on Monday evening, according to the Met office.
On the other hand, the country's highest rainfall of 68mm was recorded in Rangamati until 6:00pm on the day.
The Met office forecast that light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions today (Tuesday).
And day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country, it added.
The sun sets in Dhaka at 05:34pm today (Tuesday) and will rise at 05:55am tomorrow (Wednesday).
