Rain relieves city dwellers
FE Report | Tuesday, 27 February 2018
The capital experienced a sudden spell of rainfall on Monday that provided some respite to the city dwellers.
The rain started at around 8:20 pm and continued for about an hour. Early in the day, the city also experienced brief rain accompanied by gusty wind and sandstorm.
A number of city dwellers, including job holders, who were returning home at night, took shelter at different roadside buildings, as most of them did not carry any umbrella.
Many of them faced problems in reaching their respective destinations due to shortage of public transport amid gridlock.
However, Md Habibullah, a private sector service holder, told the FE at Purana Paltan at around 8:30 pm, "I welcome the sudden rain, as it has given some respite amid the ongoing hot and humid weather in the capital."
